From the Director

The occasional breeze feels nice and cool as the fall season comes. It has been approximately 3 weeks since the school year started...
How is your child doing with a new routine and schedule? It is vital to create a good routine in his/her daily life. As they repeat a good daily routine every day, children become ready mentally and physically. Please be patient! Simply observe closely how each child gets ready for the next step at his/her own pace, and give them a hand only when they need one.
Fall has finally come!

Reminders

Please label all belongings, including jackets and socks. We have been adding items to our lost & found.
Please follow rules when you read or check out books & videos at KNI library.

"Tomo, Hang in There!"

An accident last September left our alumnus Tomo Kadono (Class of '88) paralyzed from the shoulders down. It must have taken a long time and much suffering that words cannot explain, until he accepted the difficult situation and started moving forward.
He is currently going to physical therapy and working hard to get better. We learned that his insurance will not cover the most of his therapy expenses, and he will not be able to continue it without financial help.
KNI is planning to direct all of our monthly offerings which we have previously been sending to Shishiori elementary school, and other fundraising money to Tomo for a while. Of course, we will continue non-monetary support to Shishiori elementary school, and will resume monetary support for them, once Tomo starts receiving support from the government. Our alumni is like our family! Please join us to support him.
There will be a donation box next to the attendance sheet. Thank you very much for your generous support. Cash or make payable to 'Kodomo No Ie' if it is a check.

Class Profile

Renge Class (Mon/Wed AM)

Renge Class kids are full of energy already when they arrive at KNI in the morning! There are still a few who do not want to part from parents, but don't worry! Renge Class has many 'big brothers' and 'big sisters' to support you!! They will hold your hand whenever you need help.
They are full of energy even when we clean up after the play - we get the job done super-quickly! Renge class loves to play, loves to sing, and so energetic! (Hashiba)

Momo Class (Tue/Thu AM)

Momo Class has many kids who are new to KNI. They seem to already remember where to put shoes and bags...
Many are able to put away their belongings independently. Rock-Paper-Scissors Exercise we do first thing in the morning is what everyone is looking for. "Pause! Jan-Ken-Pon!" Everyone is having fun exercising and using their whole body.
It will be a fun class filled with smiles! (Kanno)

Sumire Class

Sumire Class has both new kids and returnees who are a little older than the others. We get to see many older kids that are helping the younger ones. They are very kind to each other and get along well.
There are many who love to talk about things, too. We hear lots of laughter and fun talking all over the KNI campus. (Iino)
