June’s Word… “I am sorry” (Gomen nasai)

We had a wonderful Sports Day, didn't we? The weather was perfect, not too hot or not too cold and we could see many smiley faces and hear cheers from the children. Thank you very much for your cooperation.

Now the school is near the end of the year. It is time to assess how each child has grown. Have all the “buds” in the children’s heart grown?

We are looking forward to seeing you again during the Summer School or in September for the New School Year. Thank you very much for your understanding and great support for this school year. We truely appreciate everyone from the bottom of our heart.

From Rev. Samuel Chow

I am privileged to be able to serve in the First United Methodist Church of San Gabriel in the past 10 years. One of the joys that I have is to meet with students of the KNI once a month and share Bible stories with them. They are really lovely and well disciplined. I praise God for all the parents and the Sensei of the School!

Being a parent myself, I know parents have high expectation about our children. But as the morality of the American society is decaying, people value freedom more than a righteous life. Children are easily influenced by their peers and give up the traditional value which is grounded in the Bible.

The Bible exhorts us, “Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it” (Proverb 22:6)
It is our responsibility as parents to teach our children the right way of life.

My wish is that our parents and their children will know God and will find the right path of life. Please bring your children to church on Sunday and join the Sunday School so that they will learn about God and the right way of life!

As I am retiring by the end of June, I wish you and your family, and the KNI all the Blessings from God!!
