Word of the Month・・・”Gomen nasai” (Sorry)

We had a wonderful undokai. The weather was perfect, not too hot or not too cold and we could see many smiley faces and hear cheers from the children.
Thank you very much for your cooperation.

Now the school is near the end of the year. It is time to assess how each child has grown. Have all the “buds” in the children’s heart grown?

From Tom-sensei

Dear Parents,
As I reflect on this past year at Kodomo No Ie, I am reminded of what Dr. James Dobson once said. Children just don’t fit into a “to do” list very well. It takes time to be an effective parent when Children are small. It takes time to introduce them to good books. It takes time to fly kites and play punch ball and put together jigsaw puzzles. It takes time to listen. Dr. Dobson is correct. Nothing will ever be able to replace the important role of parenting in your child’s life.

Over the past few years you have entrusted your child to Kodomo No Ie as a part of their childhood development but it is really just a small part. Your presence in their lives is infinitely more important. As the Charles Wells, former mayor of Boston, Massachusetts once said. The school will teach children how to read, but the environment of the home must teach them what to read. The school can teach them how to think, but the home must teach them what to believe.

As your child graduates from Kodomo No Ie you will find that their future days at school will grow to be longer and longer until they eventually go off to college. I am sure college seems like an eternity away but you will find that the childhood years go by so fast. I encourage you to spend as much time with your children as you possible can. Do simple things together like walking the family dog or preparing a family meal. The time you spend with you child when they are young will have an influence on them that will last a lifetime.

Welcome Ms. Tabari

Nice to meet you, my name is Yuki Tabari. I really enjoy seeing smiles on children’s faces and look forward to seeing many at Kodomo no Ie. I will try my best to keep up with the energetic children. I appreciate your support in my new position.

Thank you Ms. Ego

I was able to get through this year by everyone’s support and gaining courage and
energy from all the children. I believe that what I learned this year will be extremely
valuable for my life ahead. Thank you very much. (Rie Ego)
