December Newsletter

The word of the month “Thank You”
I feel restless as it gets closer to the end of the year. There are more children running around with jackets as it gets darker earlier and the temperature drops in the morning and night. However, this weather change doesn’t seem to affect the children and they seem excited.
The daikon in the garden is growing with the support of the daily cheers from the children.
I hope everyone will enjoy this holiday season!!

From Tom Sensei

A school teacher in England tells a delightful story. At Christmas time she supervised the construction of a manager scene portraying the birth of Jesus Christ in a corner of the classroom. The children participated happily in the project. They also enjoyed taking part in a drama portraying Mary, Joseph and baby Jesus on that first Christmas morning. The teacher noticed one boy was particularly captivated by it all and was forever going back and forth to the scene. At last she asked him if there was anything bothering him. He said,"what I'd like to know is-where does God fit in?" What that little boy did not realize is that this season of Christmas is all about God "fitting into" a human body. God himself took on human flesh and lived among us. That is the essence of the Christmas story. As you gather together with your family and friends this Christmas season may you also experience the wonderful blessing of knowing God is with you as well.

Please use this opportunity to take pictures and video of your child(ren). Please make sure to stay afterward for the meeting so that you can understand the process and detailed schedule ahead of time for the 20th.

To Parents

It is December. Are you busy getting ready to be Santa Claus? At the “Thanksgiving worship”, Mr.Tom had a sermon about looking back at his own experience and pointed out all the things he is thankful to God for, and I thought of my own feelings. First of all, I am thankful for all the supports I’ve gotten from KNI staff members, and parents.
I am thankful that I can live my life healthy and spend my days with students every day. Also I am thankful for my 91 year old mother’s health. Why don’t you also take a moment before getting ready for Christmas and look back on your own lives and think about looking for your children’s treasures which I talked about the other day.

Mrs. Umehata

To Students from your teachers.

Please be careful not to get sick and take care of yourselves. A lot of you have been sick recently. Christmas is around the corner. Are you getting excited? Christmas is Jesus’ birthday and everybody around the world celebrates it. Santa is bringing you gifts. It’s very exciting, isn’t it?

We sent Santa a letter saying “Please bring nice and fun Christmas gifts to all our wonderful students” so we think Santa is watching us through his telescope now.
Remember, it is Jesus’ birthday, and celebrate together!
