Word of the Month: Arigatou (Thank you)

It’s December and we are finally starting to feel a chill in the air. The daikon crops are growing well and responding to the students’ cheering them on every morning, “Ookiku Naare (Grow bigger)!”. Now that Thanksgiving has passed, it seems the children’s thoughts have moved onto Santa and what kind of presents they’ll be getting this year. I hope you have a wonderful holiday season and a new year full of joy.

The 30th Anniversary

Dear Parents,

Kodomo No Ie opened in October 1987 and will be celebrating its 30th anniversary next year! So many memories run through my head, like pictures on an old film reel.

It feels like a dream that this tiny, tiny school that I started, with my simple desire to spend time with children again after moving to the Unites States, has now flourished into a place where countless children have grown up in the past 30 years.
These 30 years would not have been possible without the parents’ support and encouragement, as well as God’s protection.

A committee has been set up to prepare for the 30th anniversary celebration, led by the following individuals (listed below). I am thankful these people have committed themselves to preparing a wonderful celebration for our school.

Thank you for your support and understanding, as we prepare to create a warm and friendly event that will hopefully touch you all.
