The word of the month is “Thank you”

Now that our clocks have “fallen back” (from daylight savings time), it’s getting dark much earlier and we are really starting to feel the cold. This season always reminds me of a story one family told me years ago. Those days, we were sending all the money collected from the monthly offerings to the church’s UMCOR (United Methodist Committee on Relief) program which provides services to those in need all over the world. But one day, a child from KNI saw a homeless man wrapped up in a blanket in an effort to stay warm, and asked her mother, “Why didn’t my donation make it to that man?” When the girl’s mother shared this story with me, I was filled with joy because it showed that the child understood the meaning of charity, and deposited the money during each monthly offering with affection for those in need.

It is December, and everyone is getting busy. I wish you a wonderful holiday season, and stay healthy!
