From the Undoukai Committee

We had another very successful undoukai this year and were blessed with wonderful weather. To see the great effort that the children put into each event, to hear their cheering voices, and to see their happy faces as they received their medals – were all amazing memories from that day. This day was made possible by many people, including the Saturday Japanese School teachers, the class mothers, and those who helped set up the canopies, make the balloon entrance, transport equipment to the venue, manage the parking, sort the bentos, and volunteered for the events. We also received a lot of help with the set up and clean up. And once again the high school students were a great help! We would also like to thank Kay Osorio who made the entrance gate, Mr. Pierce who managed the sound for the event, Yuki Inouye who emceed the event in English and occasionally in Japanese, and the many parents of past students who also helped out at the event. It was an event created by all of us and enjoyed by all of us, an event where we helped one another and one that we poured our hearts into. It was truly an event that embodied the spirit of Kodomo No Ie. And for making this possible, I’d like to offer my deepest appreciation to each and every one of you.

From the PTA President

This school year has quickly come to an end. I have participated in many school events and have had many wonderful experiences. Everything went very smoothly this year thanks to all of the PTA members and the class mothers who took initiative when needed and supported me throughout the year. Thank you very much. I’d also like to thank all of the parents who worked so hard as volunteers during the school events. Next year, with a new director, I am sure there will be changes in the role of the PTA. Please know that the PTA is only possible with the support of the parents of KNI. My hope is that we can all continue to contribute to ensuring that KNI is a school that is always full of children’s laughter.
