May Theme: Kodomo no Hi-Children’s day
JFL (Morning)
Goals:
- To be able to give advice in Japanese
- To be able to tell own opinions and thoughts
Class activities:
- To exchange opinions through presentations
- To keep diary in Japanese to increase Japanese vocabularies
Grammar and vocabularies:
- Bekida, hoo ga yoi, beki de wa nai, nai hoo ga yoi, to omou etc.

Class I
Goals:
- To be able to write own name neatly
- To gain deeper understanding of Kodomo no hi by attending its event
- To be able to enjoy making a present for mother’s day
- To be able to participate in practices for Sports day in an active manner
Class activities:
- Origami craft of Koinobori, and newspaper craft of Kabuto.
- To make a card for mother’s day
- A card game of Hiragana letters
Grammar and vocabularies:
- To gather words starting with letter RA, RI , RU, RE, and RO and to learn right stroke orders of these letters and how to write them neatly

Class II
Goals:
- To get to know the history of Kodomo no hi and enjoy the day
- To be able to enjoy mother’s day and Sports day
- To be able to read and write words related to these events
Class activities:
- Origami craft of Koinobori, and newspaper craft of Kabuto
- To make a card for Mother’s day

- Koinobori, kabuto, hukinagashi, magoi, higoi, okaasan, XXe, YY yori etc.

Goals:
- To be able to write what we experienced and remember in order, utilizing a memo.
Class activities:
- To write a book report after we read a book about Kodomo no hi.
- To read aloud sentences
- To write sentences orderly what we experienced and observed, utilizing a memo
- To read own composition and listen to classmates’ ones.

- Omoide, jyunban, bunsyuu, nangyoume, gyou, bun, danraku etc.
- Kaku + tasu = kakitasu, kaiwa no hyouki etc.

Goals:
- To get to know that religion is related to our eating habits
- To gain deeper understanding of refugees and their conditions
- To gain deeper understandings of history and culture related to Kodomo no hi
Class activities:
- To learn what to do and say before we eat based on religions (Christianity, Hindu , Islam and Buddhism)
- To learn and make an oral presentation about refugees in Chad by utilizing pictures of “Hungry Planet”
- To read a passage of history bout Kodomo no hi

- Syuuyou, syokuzen, syokugo, bukkyou, kansya, saisyokusyugi, nanmdattakamo sirenai, etc.

Goals:
- To be able to write sentences about pictures
- To be able to tell someone, who does not know about Tango no Sekku, about its history
Class activities:
- To review of Credit test
- To write sentences by seeing a single-panel cartoon.
- To write sentences by seeing a four-panel cartoon, focusing on introduction, development, turn and conclusion.
- To introduce Kodomono hi
