PTA Newsletter December 2014

1: From the Christmas Event Committee
2: Christmas Pageant Guidelines and Requests
3: From Fundraising

The temperature has only begun to drop, and it’s already December! December means it’s time for the Christmas Pageant. The children are hard at work practicing their songs and play. Please bring family members, relatives, and friends to see the children’s adorable performances.

From the Christmas Event Committee

Have you been making the photo and felt ornaments that will decorate the tree at the Christmas Pageant? Everyone may be busy during the holiday season, but we’d like to send out a gentle reminder that the deadline is December 12th (Fri).

We are also collecting donations for both the Christmas Pageant and Mochi Event. Please note that the donation sign-up sheets are located next to the attendance sheet. Please label all donated items and turn them in by December 16th (Tue) in the box located in the playground area. We appreciate your participation.

We are continuing to collect refreshment donations for the Christmas Pageant. We welcome baked goods donations from parents! For those that can contribute, please contact the Christmas Committee members or the Class Mothers.

Christmas Pageant Guidelines and Requests

We request that everyone refrain from standing in the aisles during the performances so that everyone can enjoy the Christmas Pageant.
Parents will have an opportunity to photograph and video record performances during the rehearsals and post-performances.
The volunteer photographers and videographers will be recording the performances. There were no guardians with professional photo/video experience as there were in previous years so the PTA members have hired a professional videographer for the event. The recorded event will be available for purchase as a DVD. Parents’ Association will distribute information about the DVD sale. We request your understanding and cooperation!

Following the Christmas Pageant will be the annual Mochi Event on January 11 (Sun) at 1pm. The very popular yearly taiko performance will take place at 2pm. We look forward to seeing everyone!

From Fundraising

2014 is quickly coming to an end. How was the year for everyone?
There were 3 fundraising efforts in 2014 so far.
Thank you for your participation in purchasing Scrip (Gift Card).
We appreciate your patience in the items that we have not yet been able to deliver from the T-shirt orders. It appears that the vendor is busy, and items will be delivered as they are fulfilled.
☆☆ T-shirt sales raised $300.
☆☆ Scrip sales raised $600.

The fundraising money was used to repair the yagura, the tower in the middle of the playground.
