Sports Day

Much-awaited Sports Day is just around the corner on May 18!! We would appreciate all of your cooperation to make this day successful. If you have already signed up for volunteering, thank you very much. You will receive detailed information from the class mothers soon.

We are also grateful that our alumni now in high-school will be helping us again this year as volunteers. Please say hello and thank them when you see them working hard at the event! We are planning games for everybody including Saturday Class students, toddlers, grade school children (regardless of alumni or not), and daddies and mommies. Let’s all have lots of fun and make this KNI’s biggest event a truly memorable.

Important Notes

The venue was again changed to a new location this year, and parking lot spaces are limited. As it is anticipated that many of you may need to park on the street, please plan extra time to park and walk to the venue. Please be extra careful when walking on and across the street in the area.

Obento (Lunch Box) Order

Lunch orders were due on Saturday, May 3rd. Tozai Market will provide us delicious lunch boxes again this year. Sorry, no additional orders or cancellation after the deadline.

Report on “Cooking Class with Akira-san”

“Cooking Class with Akira-san,” instructed by the owner chef of the French restaurant “Maison Akira” in Pasadena, was held on March 12 with huge success. We have received many positive feedbacks, including, “delicious!”, “thank you for such a dedicated session”, “made me a big fan of his cooking”, “very happy with all of the class size, fee, time, and even child care!”, and so on. We would like to thank Mai Noguchi, Midori Tyler, Junko Yamauchi, and Shiho Yobiko, for all the help to make this happen. If you missed it this year, do not miss out next year!

Announcement

We are recruiting Parent Association Board members and Class Mothers for the next coming school year.
The monthly Class Mother meeting is always a friendly atmosphere, and the children of those who need child care will be taken care of by the teachers during the meeting. Many children are excited to meet new friends from other classes and to be able to play with the teachers. If you are interested, please feel free to speak to the current Class Mothers. We look forward to seeing you!
