From the Sports Day Committee

Under the sunny California sky, with all the support from KNI teachers and parents, we had a successful sports day event. Despite the fact that we had a few little complications and delays due to moving to a new location overall it was a success. Everybody did their job with a smile such as making the “Balloon Gate”, setting up the tent, parking supervision, moving equipment, and helpers for each game. We can not thank you enough for your support. Special thanks go out to the following Ms. Pierce for playing fun and exciting music, Ms. Yuki Inoue from Saturday class for becoming a new MC this year, and all the high school volunteers for helping set up and cleaning. Nowadays it is very rare to have this kind of family oriented traditional “Kodomo No Ie” sports day event. We really wish to keep this going.

From the Parents' Association President

- Looking back over this school year -

This school year has passed by very fast. My goal as the president was to listen to as many different people’s voices, opinions and ideas as possible to help build a stronger KNI parent team. We tried to do more than just support school events, and we spent considerable effort during our monthly meetings discussing how to enhance the school environment.
I hope that everybody will continue to support the school and help the children have a wonderful and meaningful “Kodomo No Ie” experience next year.
Lastly, I would like to thank all of the Board members, class mothers, event committee members, cooking class committee members, bazaar committee members, and translation committee members. I would not have been able to complete my term without your help. Again, thank you very much for your support.

Tomomi Itaya, 2012-2013 Parents' Association President

Announcement

We are recruiting new board members and class mothers for the 2013 school year. Monthly class mother meetings are held in a cheerful and fun environment. Teachers will be watching your children during our meetings. So your kids will be very happy and excited to come and play with new kids who are from different classes. They will look forward to this class mother meeting time also. If you are interested in volunteering please give it a try! Let the present class mothers know as soon as possible if you are interested.

Fund-Raising

It’s been 8 months since I began to work for KNI helping the fundraising events. The school year is about to end. With my lack of knowledge, there were some inconveniences. However I will be finishing my job successfully with your support and encouragement. I want to encourage everyone including graduating families, to continue to support the KNI fundraising program. Please help to come up with more fun fundraising activities. Thank you very much and I am looking forward to seeing you all next school year.
