From the Christmas Committee
The children have been practicing very hard the songs and the Nativity play for the upcoming
“Kodomo-no-Ie Christmas Party” on
December 18th.
Plastic ornaments and
handmade gifts will decorate the Christmas tree at the party. Have you made yours yet? We understand that you are busy, but the children are looking forward to them. So please finish making them by the due date of
December 10th.
It is very helpful if you could hand the items you will loan or donate in advance to a committee member during the week of the party. You can bring the items that you use daily, such as coffee makers,
to the church hall by 9:00 am on the day of the event.
From the T-shirt Committee
Thank you for your orders. We are planning to distribute the merchandise to you in
the beginning of December.
From the Scrip Committee
The gift cards will be distributed in
early December. Our goal was for 100 % of the families to participate, but in reality, about 50% of the families participated. However, the profit was
$1,426.51, which surpassed our goal of $1,000 (the highest number in the recent years). Thank you so much for those placed orders (we can buy the Girl’s Festival snacks).
From the Scrip Committee Karen Otamura & Michiko Hartzberg
*Ms. Shiyena Milfeld (mother of Rhiyena in the Saturday class) gave us the donation of $30. Thank you.
From the Omochitsuki Committee
This year’s Omochitsuki (Mochi-pounding) event will be on
January 9th, 2011, right after the winter break. Please sign up for your donations and volunteering. Please drop off your donation items in
the box located in the schoolyard teacher’s office before the Christmas Party. Thank you for your cooperation.
From the Library Committee
Winter break starts December 20th. Please refrain from checking out the books after
Friday, December 4th, and return all books before the winter break begins.
Other Announcements:
We are making the Christmas DVD again this year! In addition to recording the Christmas Party and the Nativity play, we are also going to visit the children in all the classes during regular school hours so that we can capture the children playing inside and out in the schoolyard. Please look forward to it.
Starbucks (corner of Rosmead and Las Tunas) is donating us 150 cups worth of coffee during the refreshment time at the Christmas Party. Please enjoy!
