May Birthdays HAPPY BIRTHDAY
Dearest Students
May 5 is the
"Kodomo No Hi"(Children's Day).
Do you know the reason why we put up the
Koinobori (Carp flag)?
Once upon a time, in China, there was a very large waterfall. There was a rumor that if any fish make it up the waterfall, he or she can transform into a dragon. Many fish have attempted the task, but all have fell into the bottom of the waterfall. There was one, only one
carp have successfully swum up the waterfall! As promised, the carp was turned into a
dragon. On children's day, we raise the koinobori with the wish that all the children will be
healthy and brave like the carp.
That's why we have the Big
Koinobori swimming in the sky above our Kodomo no Ie now.
