Merry Christmas First United Methodist Church!
There are still green
mulberry leaves in the school yard, though we took walks around the school with studens and collected
fallen leaves. We had a lot of fun.
Red Maple trees were especailly beutiful.
Have you checked out our
Daikon radish seedlings at the school vegetalbe garden yet? Our students are talking to and cheering for those tiny radish seedlings
"Grow up! Grow up! Daikon-san!!".
It is in December that you hear
Christmas Carols everywhere.
Please take care of yourself and each other. Have a wonderful Holiday season!
Goals of the month
- Children will feel the change in season (e.g. temperature, wind) while playing outside during winter.
- Children will be introduced to the growth of vegetables in the garden, such as Daikon. They will learn to enjoy them by cheering and taking care of the seedlings.
- Children look forward to the Christmas party while they practice for the Nativity and the ensemble, and sing Christmas songs.
- Children make Christmas crafts and enjoy decorating the rooms.
- Children learn to take care of their health through gargling and hand washing.
- Children learn the real meaning of Christmas by watching the Nativity and listening to Christmas stories.

Let's celebrate and enjoy Christmas.
We are somehow excited when December comes. It is almost Christmas. I asked the children the other day,
"What is Christmas?" All of them replied
"Santa Claus" in cheerful voices. Many years ago when my daughter was
a middle school student, she suddenly told me that
she always knew that I was Santa Claus, but pretended not to know it. I did not tell her so although I suspected that she already knew the truth. That is perhaps because both of us wanted to keep believing in Santa Claus. I sincerely wish that
the parents of Kodomo no Ie play Santa Claus for the children who innocently believe in his existence. I wish the parents and children together enjoy the wonderful imaginary world of Santa Claus and Christmas that the
children dream of.
Have a merry Christmas and a happy new year.

Merry Christmas First United Methodist Church!
Dear KNI Families,
Soon the church will be preparing to celebrate Christmas, one of the most holy times in the life of the church. This is the time of the year when gifts are most important because of the gift God gave in the birth of Jesus.
Long ago people celebrated this birth by bringing gifts from other countries to a small child born to an average family in an out-of-the-way place.
Today we celebrate that child's birth by giving gifts to each other, to the church, and to families in need.
But we also celebrate with parties and festivities.
Please come to the KNI Christmas Party on
Saturday, December 20th.
The teachers and children have prepared a special Christmas program which will entertain us. Let us share together in the spirit of the season.
The church will also be having special celebrations to commemorate Christmas.
We invite you to attend:
Sunday,December 14th, adult choir performance, childcare provided, at 10:00A.M.
Sunday,December 21st, children's Christmas drama during 10:00 A.M. worship.
