From the Bazaar Committee

Thank you very much for coming to the KNI Bazaar on March 8th. Thanks to the nice weather and a good turnout, the sales reached our goal of $2,500.
We not only received in-kind donations from many corporations, such as Nishimoto Trading, also monetary donation of $100 from the Union Bank.
In addition, many families donated goods and participated in bake sale, making crafts, renting some equipments and volunteering at the event. Thank you again for all of your support.
The proceeds will be used for the purchase of presents to the KNI from the PTA, as well as for the Northern Japan Earthquake Relief Fund.
This Bazaar takes place only when we are able to secure enough volunteers. If you are interested in volunteering next year, please feel free to contact your room parent or a PTA committee member.

From the Sports Day Committee

One of the last three big events at KNI is the Sports Day on Sunday, May 18th. Thank you for those who have already signed up to volunteer at this event. You will be contacted by the committee member or your room parent with more detailed information soon after the spring break.
As the Sports Day being the biggest event at KNI, we hope to see cooperations from as many families as possible. If you haven't signed up but are interested in volunteering for this event, please contact the committee member or your room parent.

Information

We are recruiting the PTA Committee, the Event Committee members, Translation Coordinator and Room Parents for next school year. The PTA Committee consists of 1 President, 1 or 2 Vice Presidents, 2 or 3 Secretaries and 2 or 3 Treasurers. We will need 2 to 3 Room Parents per class. The role of the Event Committee is to prepare for the three main events (the Christmas Pageant, Mochi-tsuki Event and the Sports Day Event) and coordinate with volunteers. The Translation Coordinators translate KNI's monthly Newsletter to English and posts them online. It's ideal for those who want to work from home. All of the above mentioned members will gather once a month for the Class Mothers meeting, and decide on upcoming events. As KNI teachers will provide childcare during the meeting, kids look forward to playing with friends across the ages and classes.

Fundraising

We conducted fundraising through ASPIRE, and SCRIP gift cards in March. Currently we are doing another fundraising for T-shirts and Cooler bags just in time for the Sports Day, and the application form has been sent to your way. Its deadline is Saturday, April 19th. We look forward to your order. Below is the report of the fundraising in March.

$47.15 (About 20 % of the total sale. ) *For this program, the more sales results in higher percentages of the proceed. We hope to reach 50% next time!
SCRIP
$405.75 (about 7% of the total sale)
