Class 1


Goals:
• To be able to write letters, holding a pencil with a right posture and with appropriate brushstroke strength.
• To get to know the history of Christmas, and to be able to welcome Christmas with pleasure.
Class Activities:
• To make a Christmas card with learned Hiragana letters.
• To have fun singing Christmas songs by following its rhythms.
Grammar and Vocabularies:
• To gather words starting with letter SA, SHI, SU, SE, SO, and to learn right stroke orders of these letters and how to write them neatly.

Class 2

Goals:
• To be able to write a short sentence using the fundamental rules of the language.
• To be able to write a short letter and a card.
Class Activities:
• To be able to write a message through making a Christmas card.
• To make simple sentences from pictures and illustrations.
Grammar and Vocabularies:
• XX san e (To XX) , YY yori (From YY).
• Learn the difference between は/わ, を/お, and へ/え etc.

Class 3
This month’s text book is 「漢字の学習 小1」
Students learn how to write neatly from learning Japanese Calligraphy and Tea Ceremony.
Goals:
• To know the real meanings of Christmas.
• To make a Christmas card with Origami paper.
• To experience Japanese Calligraphy and Tea Ceremony.
• Write a letter to the children who are victims of the big earthquake.
• Observe the growth of Daikon.
Class Activities:
• To read the story of Christmas.
• To experience Japanese Calligraphy and Tea Ceremony.
• To make a Christmas card with Origami paper.
• To read a letter and reply a letter.
• Observe the growth of Daikon and learn to keep logs.
Grammar and Vocabularies:
• Words related to Christmas and New Year.
• Words related to Origami such as Yama-Ori, Tani-Ori.
• Honba, Futaba.

Class 4
This month’s text book is 「漢字の学習 小2 上巻/下巻」
Once you write Japanese Calligraphy, you can’t erase it. They will learn Japanese culture and also learn to concentrate and focus.

Goals:
• To write words with a brash and Chinese ink.
• To sing Christmas songs in Japanese.
• To be able to use words of diagram.
Class Activities:
• To experience Japanese Calligraphy.
• To sing Christmas songs in Japanese in a class room.
• To make a Christmas card.
Grammar and Vocabularies:
• Eto (Chinese zodiac)
• Jingle Bells, Akahana no Tonakai (Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer)
• Sankaku kei , Shikaku kei, Seihou kei, Ten, Sen Etc,.

Class 5
This month’s text book is 「漢字の学習 小3 上巻/下巻」
Understanding each character has more than two different sounds and get use to the root of each character.
Goals:
• To be able to write a thoughtful letter.
• To be able to translate English name to correct Japanese Katakana.
• To be able to translate Japanese words to English words.
• To be able to use correct punctuation marks.
Class Activities:
• Write a Christmas card to the children who are victims of big earthquake.
• Learn correct stroke for each character.
• Learn Japanese culture such as Tea Ceremony.
Grammar and Vocabularies:
• Words related to a tea ceremony such as Matcha, Cha-Shaku, Cha-Wan etc,.
• To learn a letter form through a Christmas card making.
• 「Keshite ~Shimasen」(Adverb)


Class 6
November class Review:
Nov. 3rd Haiku 575 syllables.
Nov. 10th Story of Mrs. Kaz Sueyoshi’s experience. Q and A.
Nov. 17th Matsuo Basho, Oku no Hosomichi
Read a newspaper article both In Japanese and in English.
This month we will have Japanese Calligraphy and Japanese Tea Ceremony during a class. What you can do if you don’t have a brash and any ink? We will talk about this topic. We will talk about Japanese Tea culture. We will talk about the root of Japanese culture.
