Class I,II

Study Objectives:

- Learn & follow the school rules
- Learn classmates' names & learn to play together
- Have good posture, hold pencil in correct way & have interest in writing

Learning Activities:

- Sing and dance along the fall songs: “yaakiimonouta”& “Yamanoongakutai”
- Observes the leaves on the ground to understand the seasonal changes.
- Make origami squirrels and chestnut to promote interest in fall food & animals.

Vocabulary and Expressions:

- Hiragana: learn to write & learn the words containing  ta,chi, tsu,te,to,na,ni,nu,ne,no
 

Class III

Study Objectives:

- Know the names of the objects in the classroom as well as outside.
- Promote interest in the garden and learn the names of the produce.
- Promote interest in Halloween

Learning Activities:

- Explore the school yard
- Explore the classroom
- Discuss their plans for Halloween

Vocabulary and Expressions:

- Know the names of the school ground equipments and produce in the garden
- Words relating to Halloween
- OKASHIYASHIKI (the Candy House) shopping terms.
 

Lower grade level

Study Objectives:

- Through OKASHIYASHIKI (the Candy House), learn to carry conversation in Japanese in retain store setting.
- Learn to write promotional flyer & thank you letter to customers in Japanese

Learning Activities:

- Play “omiseyasan-game”. Break up the class into 2 groups: customers & store clerk.
- Make posters for the store announcements & thank you notes.

Vocabulary and Expressions:

- Vocabulary -
Learn the categorical names (fish, vegetable, snacks, fruits and etc) and
individual names (mackerel, daikon, caramel, melon and etc)
- Grammar and Expressions -
Learn the phases necessary for retain store: welcome, thank you very much, what is this?, how much is it? What is the total? Your total is $___. and etc


Middle Grade

Study Objectives:

- Being able to tell about the halloween costume a student has worn or the costumes that made a strong impression on him/her. ←→Being able to draw based on one's friend's story
- Being able to write a “Candy House” invitation card and a thank you letter to preschoolers in Class I, II and III.

Learning Activities:

- Pair work activities after students observe/hear about/imagine Halloween costumes
- Reading Japanese aloud
- Dictation of short Japanese sentences
- Making “Candy House” cards
- Discuss “Candy House” within a group (consisting of members from different age group classes)

- Being able to create a Jack-o’-lantern after having read as to how to make it and also being able to write about how to make a Jack-o-Lantern
- Being able to write a letter to request candy donations and a thank you letter
- Being able to calculate the profit after having learned the concept of marketing

Learning Activities:

- Reading material related to the theme
- Making of Jack-O’-Lantern
- Candy House

- Creating the explanation about Halloween to be uploaded on the website
- Writing a letter explaining about Halloween to one’s relatives in Japan
- Making of Jack-o’-lantern
